Free ground source heat pumps from EoN

EoN are offering the free installation of 'HeatPlant' their ground source heat pump to eligible households, as part of meeting their CERT obligations. They will also install free insulation in the house if necssary.

Although households do not need to be EoN customers, the eligiblity criteria are very narrow:

  • 1. Your home should be currently heated by coal or an electric system, and
  • 2. Your home should not be connected to mains gas, and
  • 3. Your home should not be a solid wall property, and
  • 4. At least one member of your household should be on a qualifying benefit.

The qualifying benefits are:

  1. Income Support
  2. Income-based Jobseeker's Allowance
  3. Income-related Employment & Support Allowance (under the Welfare Reform Act 2007)
  4. Housing Benefit, Council Tax Benefit (not including single occupancy reduction)
  5. Attendance Allowance
  6. Disability Living Allowance
  7. State Pension Credit
  8. War Disablement Pension (which must include Mobility Supplement or Constant Attendance Allowance)
  9. Disablement Pension Credit (which must include constant attendance allowance)
  10. Child Tax Credit (where the relevant income is less than £16,040)
  11. Working Tax Credit (where the relevant income is less than £16,040)
