Derbyshire Communities Climate Action Conference

PosterMEA is assisting Derbyshire County Council to organise their first Communities Climate Action conference at County Hall in Matlock on Saturday 13th March.

This free conference has been designed to encourage and inspire individuals to take action on climate change and to help them set up local community groups.

Highlights will include:

  • A chance to hear keynote speaker Hugh Ellis, Chief Planner of the Town and Country Planning Association and a Derbyshire resident.
  • An excellent networking opportunity people in Derbyshire who are interested in tackling climate change.
  • Workshops run by existing community groups and other organisations on topics as diverse as going plastic bag free and influencing the planning process. Each participant will be able to choose six workshops to attend out of a total of 20.

Derbyshire County Council's Cabinet Member for Recycling and Technologies John Allsop said: "We all keeping hearing about our carbon footprint and climate change but it can be hard to know what to do about it.

This conference will provide plenty of practical advice, tips and ideas on what we can all do to reduce our carbon emissions and go green for the good of our communities."
