New Project in Bayston Hill

Following our pilot study in Bayston Hill in March 2011, the parish council have won funding and commissioned MEA to make a concerted effort to help reduce bills and impact on the environment in the village.

The fast paced project will take place between now and the end of March and impact on all sectors - private householders, public buildings and businesses.

We will be doing a series of awareness raising events and drop in sessions for householders. These will be complemented by a newsletter and investigation into solid wall properties. Some properties will get direct assistance to have their walls insulated.

We will also be setting up a bespoke area wide insulation scheme for all domestic properties. There will be energy audits undertaken for eight public buildings and five businesses. Local handy people will be trained and there will be an ‘open house event' along with an installer network and event.

We will also be looking into the feasibility for renewable technologies in the village across a number of properties.
