greg shepley . . .
Greg Shepley started work at MEA as a volunteer before being appointed as Director's Assistant.
Qualifications: MSci in Maths, Imperial College London. Skills: Understanding and working with complex systems and problems, communication, interpersonal skills, logical interpretation of information and subsequent optimum action. Where I've come from: Shropshire via London and Valencia. I like: meeting new and interesting people, musing or laughing with old friends, pushing myself to be the best that I can be, learning languages, team sports, self-expression, nature, playing and listening to music. A moral I try to live my life by: "Whenever you feel like criticizing any one... just remember that all the people in this world haven't had the advantages that you've had." The Great Gatsby, F Scott Fitzgerald. How I'm trying to live more sustainably: Reducing the carbon footprint of my parent's house, consuming local produce, shopping in charity and second hand shops where possible. I believe the greatest threat to our current society and environment is: Not learning sufficiently from our previous mistakes and making them again. My 'dirty secret' (nothing lewd or personal here please - from a sustainability point of view only!): still owning and occasionally using a car (near home public transport seems to stop at 7pm!) It may surprise you to know but . . . I once organised and ran guided tours of the trees of Valencia. If things had turned out differently I might have been . . . lead guitarist in a groundbreaking band. |

Professional Interests: How people react to climate change and why, communicating, understanding social dynamics.
