Sylvia Le Flohic is a Project Manager for Low Carbon Communities at MEA. She uses her strong understanding of sustainability, and draws upon her life-long experience of a low carbon lifestyle, to encourage and support people in their desire to reduce their fossil-fuel dependency.

Since joining MEA in January, Sylvia has engaged with a couple of communities, giving presentations, delivering workshops and carrying out audits. She has successfully delivered the first phase of the low carbon community strand of a biomass-based project in Worcestershire.

Professional Interests: Renewable energies (solar in particular), energy efficiency, and sustainability in general

Qualifications: Baccalaureate in Environmental and Agricultural Sciences. Degree in Business Administration

A moral I live my life by: Practice what you preach. Tomorrow is as bright as you'll make it

How I'm trying to live more sustainably:  I use my bicycle for local journeys, grow some vegetable, buy local food (preferably organic and from the market) and lead a frugal lifestyle in general (I am a great believer in non-consumerism!)

I believe the greatest threat to our current society and environment is: greed and overpopulation

My 'dirty secret' (nothing lewd or personal here please - from a sustainability point of view only!): I fly to the Continent twice a year to visit my family...
