We recognise that your circumstances will be unique to you, and that the options available can be confusing.

We will always respond to your needs with clear and simple advice outlining your options. You will then be asked to choose which options you would like to take, and we will help you to implement those.

This puts you in control. We can support you over the phone, by email, letter or, where funding allows, with a home visit. All our staff are fully trained and DBS checked, and will always carry identity cards.

We are funded by your Council, and other independent organisations, guaranteeing our impartial support.

Thermal imaging advice

As part of a home visit, we may be able to offer a free thermal imaging assessment. Using infrared cameras to detect temperature variations, this service helps reveal hidden issues such as heat loss, insulation defects, air leaks, moisture or electrical faults.

The camera produces non-invasive, colour-coded images that highlight hot and cold spots, helping identify problems like missing insulation or inefficient heating systems. These insights can prevent costly repairs and improve your home’s energy efficiency.

Retrofit advice

By making our homes more energy efficient and introducing renewables, we can have healthier, warmer homes, with lower energy bills, and lower carbon emissions. This process is called ‘retrofit’.

Fabric retrofit means improving the house’s ability to hold onto heat. Improving doors and windows, making necessary repairs, preventing draughts, and increasing insulation – in the walls and floor as well as the roof – are all part of fabric retrofit. Steps like this will make your home more energy efficient and therefore lower your energy bills.

Your priority may be to lower your carbon emissions. One of the quickest ways to do this is by switching your gas or oil boiler to a heat pump or electric storage heaters instead. Installing solar panels means you can use clean, green electricity you have generated at home, rather than using grid electricity, saving both cost and carbon.

The benefits of retrofit are many, and your retrofit project can be split up into various stages rather than being done all at once. And help’s available every step of the way. Have a look at the FAQs and Resources sections.
